Curtis Taylor
Lifestyle Financial Services (Tas) Pty Ltd
Principal BA/LLB, CFP, DipFP, DipSIA, GAICD
Curtis provides investment and financial planning advice for retirees, pre-retirement investors, self managed superannuation fund trustees and other investors. His particular area of specialisation is direct equities for which he has had a life long passion. It is one of his favourite subjects in life. Where appropriate Curtis uses direct investment strategies to help you achieve your financial objectives because of the potential advantages of increased tax effectiveness, reduced management fees, more reliable income than from managed funds, consideration of your individual philosophies and preferences and increased investor control as compared with managed investment funds. Curtis also provides financial planning advice.
Curtis has a combined Bachelor of Arts/Law degree from the University of Tasmania, is a Certified Financial Planner, has his Diploma of Financial Planning and his Securities Institute Diploma and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Curtis is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and was a member of the Board of Governors of The Friends’ School in Hobart from 2006 to 2011. He has 27 years of experience in the financial services industry having been a technical adviser with AMP from 1986 to 1990 and a private client adviser with Shadforths Ltd (now SFG Australia) from 1990 to 2013. Curtis left Shadforths in 2013 to start Lifestyle Financial Services.
Curtis is married to Jill and has two daughters, Katie and Emily and a son James. Outside of family Curtis enjoys reading, history, music, bike riding and is an active hockey player and orienteer. Curtis has a keen sense of humour (a must when investment markets are not co-operating).
